Three takeaways from Bears' 52-21 loss to Lions, including ominous numbers on their future

DETROIT — It’s not just the Bears are 0-2 after the Lions blew them out 52-21 on Sunday. It’s that very little has looked close to being on the right track.

This loss was — incredibly — worse than the score indicated:

Insurmountable failures
The Bears’ mistakes were mountainous: D’Andre Swift fumbling in scoring territory, Caleb Williams coming up short on back-to-back quarterback sneaks and Williams throwing an inexcusable interception down the sideline.

Shaky defense
The Bears had no pass rush. The run defense got bullied.
