Three key takeaways from Bears’ third preseason game against Colts

INDIANAPOLIS — Three key takeaways from the Bears’ third preseason game:

Nall’s campaign. Seventh-round pick Kerrith Whyte appeared to have the edge for the Bears’ final spot at running back, but Ryan Nall answered with a 69-yard run in the second quarter that eventually led to a field goal. Nall spent last season on the practice squad, but that kind of playmaking ability is why he has a shot to crack the roster.

Kwiatkoski turns up. The Bears are counting on fourth-year linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski to give them some much-needed depth behind Danny Trevathan and Roquan Smith, and he played his best game of the preseason Saturday.
