Postcard from Camp: An intentionally bland night kicks off the Matt Nagy era

CANTON, Ohio — Mitchell Trubisky jogged out of the locker room and onto the field at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium wearing a baseball cap, a look replicated by the vast majority of teammates who will play a significant role in the Bears’ offense in 2018.

So what we saw during the Bears’ 17-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Thursday night’s Hall of Fame Game was a bland version of the offense Matt Nagy will deploy in one month and seven days in Green Bay. Intentionally, there was no spice to this look without Trubisky, Jordan Howard, Tarik Cohen, Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Kevin White, Trey Burton and the entire starting offensive line hanging out on the sidelines all evening.
