The Chicago Bears did not have the best start to free agency. On day one, he Bears seemed to lose out on all their main targets. But when Ryan Pace and the front office turned to their ‘Plan B’ free agents, Marcus Cooper was at the top of their list.
Cooper was coming off a career year with the Arizona Cardinals and Pace made it known to Cooper that they wanted him as part of this franchise by offering him a substantial three-year deal with $8 million guaranteed. Cooper jumped on the offer, but it may not have been he size of the contract that swayed Cooper to Chicago, it may have been his passion for the history of the Chicago Bears’ franchise.
