The hope for Chicago Bears fans on Sunday was that quarterback Caleb Williams was going to show some progression and improve upon his mixed 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week. That certainly didn't happen after the Bears lost 52-21 to the Detroit Lions.
Williams had a solid first half, during which he threw two touchdowns to his 2024 first-round pick partner, Rome Odunze. He did have a rough interception in the same half where it looked like he was trying to throw it away, but didn't get it far enough past the sidelines.
The second half was a disaster for Williams and the offense as the Bears only had seven yards for the unit in three drives during the third quarter.
