Bears defensive end Montez Sweat (98) and defensive tackle Justin Jones (93) celebrate after Sweat batted a Kyler Murray pass in the second quarter of the Bears’ 27-16 victory Sunday at Soldier Field.

Bears defensive end Montez Sweat has never been on a winning team and made the playoffs once in his first four NFL seasons — with the 7-9 Commanders in 2020. But he looked in the eyes of his teammates Sunday and saw a team that still has a lot to play for.

“Everybody was pretty much locked in, even though it’s the end of the season,” said Sweat, whose teams in Washington finished 3-13, 7-9, 7-10 and 8-8.
