Former Bear Corey Wootton retires from the NFL

In what has become a common theme this off-season, another relatively young NFL veteran player has decided to hang ‘em up. Corey Wootton, who was originally a draft pick of the Chicago Bears, has announced his retirement via social medial.

Wootton probably could have been a 1st or 2nd round selection had it not been for an injury suffered at Northwestern. He ended up being picked by the Bears in the 4th round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Wootton began his career at defensive end for the Bears, but injuries along their interior prompted them to move him to defensive tackle.
