When a team drafts a quarterback and wide receiver in the top 10 picks, it imagines them becoming a legendary pair that will leave its mark all over the record books and put the rest of the NFL on alert.
Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze are a long way from that, but it certainly was in Bears general manager Ryan Poles’ mind when he took Williams first and Odunze ninth last year.
There were snapshots of their connection last season, and maybe now that the Bears have brought in coach Ben Johnson, it’s about to grow into something real and dependable.
