The Chicago Bears hiring of John DeFilippo is an interesting one for a variety of reasons. To start, DeFilippo once interviewed for the head coach job when the team hired Matt Nagy. DeFilippo was a hot candidate after a run as the quarterback coach for Nick Foles on his miracle run to the Super Bowl.
When bringing up DeFilippo it is hard not to associate him with Foles at this point. “Flip” was in the QB room that led Foles to the Super Bowl run, and his hiring as offensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars was one of the key additions to make the Jags a perfect landing spot for, guess who, Nick Foles.
