Could the Bears actually be healthy for Week 1?

LAKE FOREST — In recent years, good news has been hard to come by at Halas Hall from August through December.

And it wasn’t long ago that Bears reporters had to take off their socks and shoes to count all the players who were held out of practice due to injury. But on Labor Day, the Bears toiled as a team, about as healthy as can be expected as the regular season begins this Sunday.

With the season opener in Houston on the horizon, Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long, on the verge of officially signing a big money contract extension, practiced with his rejiggered offensive line.
