Chicago Bears sign Dan Buchholz, waive Ben LeCompte

The Chicago Bears have made a minor move to their 90 man roster according to WGN’s Adam Hoge. Gone is rookie UDFA — and Barrington, Illinois’ own — Ben LeCompte, and rejoining the team is rookie UDFA offensive lineman Dan Buchholz from Duquesne.

Buchholz was signed by the Bears on May 9th, but waived just seven days later on May 16th. It’s interesting to note that Buchholz was waived in a group of four to make room for a group of four including LeCompte.

With LeCompte gone, I think it’s safe to assume that Pat O’Donnell has locked up the punter job for the 2016 season.
