As expected, the injury to Chicago Bears inside linebacker Danny Trevathan is a serious one. Head coach John Fox confirmed today that Trevathan suffered a ruptured patella tendon and will be lost for the remainder of the 2016 season.
Trevathan is the 15th Bear to go on injured reserve this year, and with the other starting inside linebacker, Jerrell Freeman, having 3 games left on his PED suspension, the Bears are suddenly very young at the position.
Rookie Nick Kwiatkoski received the start yesterday in Freeman’s place and 2nd year pro John Timu came in when Trevathan exited the game with his injury.
