Caleb Williams’ first game action of the preseason couldn’t have gone much better.
The second-year quarterback marched the Bears 92 yards for a touchdown to start Sunday night’s game against the Bills at Soldier Field. He capped it with a 36-yard touchdown pass to slot receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, who caught a short pass and scampered into the end zone.
Williams completed 5-of-6 passes for 97 yards and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. The Bears committed one penalty, a hold on center Drew Dalman.
The Bears did not start left guard Joe Thuney, a veteran.
