Bears to name Bill Lazor offensive coordinator: report

The Bears are hiring Bill Lazor as their new offensive coordinator, per NFL Network.

Lazor was last the Bengals offensive coordinator, having been hired a few weeks into the 2017 season. He was fired a year ago, and did not coach in the NFL in 2019. He was the Dolphins’ coordinator from 2014-15, too.

The day after the Bears’ season ended, coach Matt Nagy fired Mark Helfrich, who served as his coordinator the last two years. The Bears set about finding his replacement. It was a complicated sell, given that Nagy plans on continuing to call the plays next year.
