With arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL coming to town Monday as the Vikings and Justin Jefferson visit for the opener, the Bears don’t know whether they’ll be able to throw top cornerback Jaylon Johnson at that problem.
Johnson was out all of training camp because of a groin injury he suffered while working on his own this summer, and while the team has remained hopeful he’d be back for the start of the season, he was ambiguous about his readiness Tuesday.
“I’m doing everything I can to play,” he said, speaking to reporters for the first time in five months.
