Bears sign journeyman C Adam Redmond for O-line depth

The Bears’ revamped offensive line will include veteran center Adam Redmond as part of their bench. They signed him Wednesday and waived undrafted rookie Gage Cervenka.

Redmond, 28, will likely serve as a backup guard as well. He appeared in 14 games (no starts) for the Cowboys over the last three seasons after spending parts of the previous three seasons with the Bills and Colts.

The Bears believe they have their starting offensive line mostly set for the upcoming season after parting with left tackle Charles Leno and right tackle Bobby Massie.

Second-round pick Teven Jenkins is penciled in as the new starting left tackle, with Cody Whitehair at left guard, Sam Mustipher at center and James Daniels at right guard.
