Ben Johnson is bringing in a player from his past.
The Bears signed former Lions linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin on a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday. The eight-year veteran was a special teams stalwart in Detroit, where he was named to the Pro Bowl in 2023.
From 2017-24, Reeves-Maybin played at least 60% of his team’s special teams snaps in all but one season. He’s played more than 60% of his team’s defensive snaps just once — in 2021, when he logged 11 starts.
Reeves-Maybin has appeared in 114 games since the Lions drafted him in Round 4 in 2017, but has started just 14 times.
