Last year, the Bears’ top overall pick waited until the day that rookies reported for training camp in July to sign his rookie deal.

This year, the Bears wasted little time in signing their first-round pick, Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. He was one of five draft picks the Bears signed Thursday. Loveland, the 10th overall pick, will make about $22 million over a standard four-year rookie deal. The Bears have the option of picking up his fifth-year option three years from now.

The Bears also signed linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II, cornerback Zah Frazier, center/guard Luke Newman and running back Kyle Monangai, who were all Day 3 picks last month.
