Bears rule out top WR Rome Odunze (heel) for game at Packers on Sunday

The Bears are headed to Lambeau Field without their top offensive weapon.

Leading wide receiver Rome Odunze is out for the game after missing practice all week because of a heel injury that has been bothering him since October. He and the Bears have managed the issue by holding him out of some practices, usually one per week, but it reached a point where it made more sense to shut him down for a longer period and rule him out for the game at the Packers on Sunday.

The team is trying to ensure Odunze is in the best shape possible heading toward the playoffs, and it’s very difficult for an injury like this to get better without resting.
