The Bears made their signing of kicker Jake Moody to the practice squad official Saturday afternoon before leaving for Detroit. They also promoted one player for Sunday’s game against the Lions — and ruled another one out.
Moody, the former third-round pick who was cut by the 49ers earlier this week, is notable only in that his signing coincided with veteran Cairo Santos missing a 50-yard field goal and failing to boot the ball out of the end zone in the fourth quarter Monday. Moody has struggled in his NFL career, missing 16 kicks in 32 games.
