Bears quarterback Caleb Williams first met Jalen Hurts when he was being recruited by Oklahoma and Hurts was starring for the Sooners. Williams said he was just as inspirational then as he is now with the Eagles, stressing to Williams to use his platform as a Black quarterback.
“It was, there’s not many like us — you know, in our position, and who we are and you know, skin tone and all these things,” Williams said Tuesday after the Bears’ walk-through. “There’s not many like us. And so just being able to understand the opportunity that we have and I have to maximize that and put myself in the best opportunity possible.
