Bears defensive end Austin Booker, who posted four sacks this preseason before hurting his knee playing special teams against the Bills, was put on injured reserve Thursday and will miss at least the first four games of the season.

The move was one in a series made by the Bears, who, as expected, signed veteran long snapper Scott Daly and receiver Devin Duvernay back to the active roster two days after cutting them. The team waived linebacker Carl Jones Jr. to make room.

After cutting backup long snapper Luke Elkin and cornerback Mekhi Garner from the practice squad, the Bears signed three players to it: tight Nikola Kalinic, cornerback Dontae Manning and safety Gervarrius Owens.
