Bears promote Hurst, waive Wilson

Related Topics: Demontre Hurst, Waiver

Just one day before the team takes on the Indianapolis Colts, the Bears have made a roster move.

In is Demontre Hurst, who spent last season as the Bears’ nickel before losing his job to Bryce Callahan. He played some safety during training camp.

Out is defensive lineman C.J. Wilson. This is the third time this week Wilson has been the subject of a waiver transaction.

Last Saturday he was released for Ben Braunecker and then re-signed on Monday over RB Raheem Mostert. Such is the life of a fringe player.

Hurst, according to the Bears, has appeared in 22 games with three starts since signing with the team in 2013 as an undrafted free agent from Oklahoma.
