Bears' once-prized $48 million signing now faces crossroads game against Saints

When the Chicago Bears spent $48 million on a three-year deal for free agent defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo, many fans questioned the move.

Odeyingbo only had 16.5 sacks in his first four years in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. While sacks are a key stat, he was still great at pressuring and hitting the quarterback, as he racked up 46 quarterback hits in that same span, including 17 in each of the last two years.

Most people thought, if anything, Odeyingbo was at least going to help Montez Sweat get more sacks and create more opportunities for him since defenses would have to respect Odeyingbo's game.
