Bears morning report: Ben Johnson gives injury updates, revisits booting 1st-team offense

Bears coach Ben Johnson laughed at the attention he got for pulling quarterback Caleb Williams and the first-string offensive off the field after some sloppy pre-snap mechanics in the first practice of training camp, saying that was “not the case,” but acknowledged Thursday morning he was unhappy with how the unit was doing.

“It is what it is, you know?” Johnson said. “We’ve got to end up executing, getting in and out of the huddle a certain way and it wasn’t that way. And so we’ll be better today.”

When asked if that was an issue specifically with Williams, Johnson said, “It’s everybody.
