SANTA CLARA, Calif. — After the Bears lost 42-38 to the 49ers on Sunday night, cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson went on social media to decry what he called a ‘BS call’ against him in the second quarter.
Gardner-Johnson intercepted Brock Purdy’s pass in the second quarter with the game tied at 21. The pick came back, though, when Gardner-Johnson was called for illegal use of hands when he made contact with receiver Ricky Pearsall. That gavethe 49ers the ball at the Bears’ 3. The 49ers scored two plays later on a three-yard Purdy run.
