Bears bolster line by signing Chandler

The Bears on Friday signed veteran offensive lineman Nate Chandler.

The 6-4, 315-pounder appeared in 37 games with 19 starts over three seasons with the Carolina Panthers from 2012-14 before missing all of last season with a knee injury.

Chandler entered the NFL with the Panthers in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA. He began his career as a defensive tackle, appearing in 10 games with no starts as a rookie. He switched to offensive line in 2013, playing in all 16 games with eight starts and then started all 11 games he played in 2014.
