The Bears activated Austin Booker from injured reserve to the active roster Tuesday, as expected, and shut down fellow defensive end Shemar Turner for the season. Turner tore the ACL in his knee Sunday, while Booker, who led the Bears with four preseason sacks, hasn’t played all season because of his own knee injury.
The Bears also tried out seven players, mostly offensive linemen, as they look to fill one more open spot on their 53-man roster. Tackles Jackson Barton and Andrew Stueber, guard Royce Newman and center Jake Hanson worked out for the team, as did linebacker D.
