A Sunday conversation with Bears coach John Fox

After winning nine games over the first two years of his Bears tenure, John Fox is eager to begin his third season. He’s also optimistic — more optimistic than he has been at any point since he has been in Chicago.

The team he took over had Jay Cutler as its centerpiece, and its core consisted of Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett, Lance Briggs, Charlies Tillman and Robbie Gould. All of those players are gone. The only players who have remained from Marc Trestman's last team are Josh Bellamy, Ka’Deem Carey, Kyle Fuller, Lamarr Houston, Christian Jones, Kyle Long, Sherrick McManis, Pat O’Donnell and Willie Young.
