2020 NFL Draft: Utah State QB Jordan Love aspires to be Patrick Mahomes 2.0

MOBILE, Ala. — The Bears bypassed the real Patrick Mahomes three years ago, but maybe they can snag a copycat in the upcoming draft.

One quarterback who envisions himself in that style is Utah State product Jordan Love, who arrived at the Senior Bowl projected to go anywhere from the middle of the first round to drifting deep into the second. The Bears would need the latter to happen if they want to pick him without having to trade up.

There’s a gulf in risk versus reward with Love. His gunslinger approach led to a 32-touchdown, six-interception season as a sophomore that catapulted him into NFL consciousness.
