Mitch Trubisky is going to fight for the starting QB job despite the arrival of Nick Foles. Trubisky has reportedly been working out with Allen Robinson 4+ times per week. He’s also been practicing with other Bears’ WRs as well. Could Trubisky surprise the Bears and earn the starting position? Regardless of who starts at quarterback, Chicago will need better offensive line play in 2020. Could Kyle Long be pondering a return to the NFL? Long retired after last season due to injuries, but reports have surfaced that the Jets have reached out to Long about returning. Long has shot down those rumors and maintains he’s retired.
The Bears have had one of the top defenses in the NFL over the past couple of seasons, but could 2020 be the best since the vaunted 1985 defense? Chicago’s 2018 defense was better than the 2019 version, but many believe 2020 could top 2018. The Bears added Robert Quinn, Tashaun Gipson and Jaylon Johnson to an already loaded group. If the Bears offense improves, the Bears defense should be fresher in 2020 and put up dominant numbers like they did in 2018.
