Xavi Simons gets football's ultimate humiliation as Tottenham's £52m summer signing's struggles continue against Chelsea

Xavi Simons hit a new low when he was brought on and later substituted by Thomas Frank during Tottenham's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

Simons, who joined Spurs for £52 million this summer, began the match on the bench against their London rivals.

He replaced Lucas Bergvall after the Swede sustained a head injury in the opening minutes, coming on as a concussion substitute.

With Spurs trailing and Simons struggling to find his rhythm, Frank made another change, bringing on Wilson Odobert in the 73rd minute in place of the 22-year-old.
