Virgil van Dijk has made a 'substantial donation' to the Dutch Deaf national team, who are hoping to take part in the Deaflympics in May.

The 30-year-old supported the team financially and even donated the shirt he wore during Liverpool's triumph over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday evening.

Van Dijk's financial contribution as reportedly helped the Dutch Deaf national team raise half of the required funds to attend the tournament in Brazil.

The Dutch team were told they need to raise around €90,000 to attend the Deaflympics in May and Van Dijk was eager to help them reach that target.
