United States women’s national team stars Catarina Macario and Mia Fishel warned doubters that the younger generation is ready to prove people wrong after the country’s disappointing World Cup.
The forwards, who recently signed for English Women’s Super League side Chelsea, watched on from home as the US crashed out in the last 16 with a penalty shoot-out defeat by Sweden.
Macario, 23, missed the tournament through injury while Fishel, 22, was not selected, but both players are expected to have long careers in the national team.
