Timo Werner says he 'doesn't know why Chelsea fans support him so much' after his struggles in front of goal as the £53m striker admits in emotional interview: 'I want to score but miss chances'

Chelsea striker Timo Werner admits he can't believe he still has the backing of the fans after his struggles in front of goal.

The German international has scored 18 goals in 79 appearances for the Blues since joining from RB Leipzig for £53million in 2020.

But it is the amount of gilt-edged chances the 25-year-old has missed which has really caught the eye.

Speaking to Sky Sports and Premier League broadcaster Lynsey Hooper, he said: 'Sometimes I don't know why they are supporting me so much, because I'm a striker and I want to score but miss chances.
