MY BEST DEADLINE DAY DEAL
My favourite deadline day memory is when I was manager at Gillingham.
We had a sought-after central midfield player called Bradley Dack and there had been rumours for weeks that top-flight clubs wanted to sign him.
I was busy working on deals all day and it got to six o’clock so I rang my chairman, Mr Scally, who at the time was living in Dubai.
