Spain U17 2-2 England U17 (4-1 on pens): Heartbreak as Young Lions miss out on European U17 Championship title on pens after injury-time equaliser

There was penalty-shootout heartbreak for England Under 17s on Friday night, as they conceded a last-minute goal against Spain and went on to lose from the spot.

The Young Lions looked destined to lift the European Under 17 Championship title in Croatia when Callum Hudson-Odoi and Phil Foden had scored in normal time.

Mateu Morey had already pulled Spain back level once, before substitute Nacho Diaz scored in the sixth minute of injury time to take the game to penalties.
