Romelu Lukaku proves the difference again for Chelsea with his fourth goal in four matches as Blues begin their Champions League defence with a narrow win against stubborn Zenit St Petersburg

Just four games into the second coming and Romelu Lukaku has silenced any doubters and stolen the show.

One against Arsenal, his first for Chelsea, two against Aston Villa, his first at Stamford Bridge and then this, the winner on a night when the European champions found it heavy going against Zenit St Petersburg.

They toiled for over an hour against the Russians. The pre-match pyrotechnics and air of celebration were fizzling out into an anxious hush when Cesar Azpilicueta delivered a fabulous cross from the right flank, Lukaku assessed the flight of the ball and adjusted his feet.
