Dani Carvajal has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury, dealing Real Madrid a huge blow ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg with Chelsea next week.

According to Onda Cero journalist Edu Pidal, the full back picked up the muscle tear during training on Thursday morning and will miss the rest of the campaign as a result.

Carvajal played 77 minutes against Thomas Tuchel's men in their 1-1 draw on Tuesday before being replaced by Alvaro Odriozola.

It is another injury setback for the 29-year-old, who has already missed the majority of the campaign with a number of muscle injuries and only recently returned to the first-team fold earlier this month.
