Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois admits being booed by Chelsea fans was 'unfortunate' on his return to the club but that he knew his reception at Stamford Bridge 'wouldn't be friendly' in Champions League win

Thibaut Courtois has claimed that he was disappointed at being booed by Chelsea fans on his return to Stamford Bridge.

Courtois started for Real Madrid in their 3-1 Champions League quarter-final victory on Wednesday, with the Belgian playing at his former club for the second time and the first in front of supporters.

But he was booed by the Blues fans when his name was read out over the PA system before the game, while he was also given a frosty reception during it.

After the two sides swapped ends following the coin toss, Courtois received abuse from the Matthew Harding Lower end as he ran towards his goal.
