Raheem Sterling was the victim of a home break-in on Saturday night while he and his children were in their house.
The attempted burglary occurred around 7pm, an hour before Chelsea were due to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
We are told Sterling and his family escaped the harrowing situation unharmed, and that a police report has since been filed.
It is not known whether the perpetrators thought the 30-year-old with 82 caps for England would be in attendance to watch their 3-0 win over Wolves.
