Newcastle co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has backtracked on his previous claims that the club's fans 'need to be louder' asserting that his 'love for the club and its supporters is unwavering.'

Ghodoussi's rallying call came after their 4-1 victory against Chelsea on Saturday, but attracted the attention of many fans who hit back at his comments, stating that the club needs to improve its ticketing systems.

The Newcastle co-owner wrote on X (formerly Twitter): 'What a team. We need to give these guys more support in the stadium, we need to be louder, we need to be the 12th man.
