Mason Mount’s Chelsea future is in DOUBT with talks over a new contract on hold after the midfielder rejected an offer which falls significantly below their top earners

Mason Mount's Chelsea future is in doubt with the two parties a long way apart on a new contract.

Talks with Mount were halted after the 24-year-old rejected an offer feeling it left him below what other senior players and new signings are earning at Stanford Bridge.

Mount has 18 months left on his current deal and wants to treble his £80,000-a-week wages but the club are offering significantly less than they are paying expensive recruits like Raheem Sterling.

Negotiations are expected to resume at some point and will be an interesting test case for the new Todd Boehly regime.
