Manchester United 'face competition in their bid to sign Timo Werner as another Premier League club joins race for ex-Chelsea star' as Erik ten Hag looks to the January window in a bid to address his side's lack of goals

Manchester United are reportedly not alone in their pursuit of a loan deal for former Chelsea striker Timo Werner in January.

Werner won the Champions League during his first season at Chelsea, but struggled to replicate the goalscoring form that had made him so highly-valued in his native Germany prior to arriving in the Premier League.

After two years at Stamford Bridge, Werner returned to the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig in 2022, winning the DFB-Pokal in his first season back with Marco Rose's side.
