Kai Havertz 'asks to LEAVE Bayer Leverkusen this summer' with Chelsea leading Real Madrid in race for German star as London club are willing to pay his £90m release clause

Chelsea have been given a boost in their pursuit for Kai Havertz with the forward reportedly asking to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer, although Frank Lampard's side will have to battle it out with Real Madrid for his signature.

As revealed exclusively by Sportsmail last month, Chelsea are preparing to launch a transfer bid for the 21-year-old.

And according to Bild, Havertz has had enough at the BayArena and has told them of his desire to seek pastures new.
