Frank Lampard has revealed that he has had 'flattering opportunities' to return to management since his dismissal from Chelsea.

Lampard was talking for the first time since his departure from the Blues on January 25.

The 42-year-old has been linked with the England Under-21 job after Aidy Boothroyd's side were knocked out of the European Championship in the group stages.

Lampard said: 'Football has consumed my life firstly as a player and then as a manager. Nobody wants to lose their job. But when you go into this career, it can happen, no matter how good you think you are.
