Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has said he did not feel Jose Mourinho was right to suggest his "love story" with the Blues was over when he left them as a player for Manchester City.
Lampard spent the bulk of his playing career at Stamford Bridge. After he scored against Chelsea while playing for Manchester City in the 2014-15 season, then-Blues boss Mourinho told Sky Sports (h/t BBC Sport) the "love stories are over."
Per Goal's Nizaar Kinsella, following Mourinho's appointment as Tottenham Hotspur boss, Lampard said of those comments:
"At the time I didn't feel it was quite right, I have to say that.
