Former Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira 'is set to be appointed as Strasbourg manager on a three-year deal' with the French club having been bought by Chelsea as part of a plan to build a multi-club network

Former Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira is set to be appointed as the new manager of Strasbourg.

As reported by BBC Sport, Vieira will sign a three-year contract, with the deal to be finalised on Sunday.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder has been out of work since his departure from Crystal Palace in March.

Strasbourg were recently taken over by Chelsea's parent company BlueCo after Todd Boehly outlined his desire to build a multi-club network.

Vieira has experience of working in a multi-club group as he coached Manchester City's development squad after retiring from playing and then went on to manage New York City FC, who are co-owned by City Football Group.
