Diego Costa 'lucky' to avoid red card says Jamie Carragher after Chelsea striker's lunge against West Ham

Diego Costa was branded 'lucky' on Monday night after escaping a red card before scoring a last-gasp winner to provide Antonio Conte with a winning start.

The Chelsea striker, who was earlier booked for dissent, looked in danger of a second yellow for a nasty looking lunge on West Ham keeper Adrian.

Costa caught the keeper just above the ankle, but referee Anthony Taylor somehow decided against showing the Spaniard a second booking. The decision cost West Ham dear as Costa scored a brilliant 89th minute winner.
