Dario Gradi, who managed Crewe Alexandra when Barry Bennell served as youth-team coach, is set to be stripped of his MBE following complaints that his 'honour has been tarnished' - eight years after he was suspended by the FA over safeguarding concerns

Former Crewe Alexandra manager Dario Gradi is set to be stripped of his MBE following complaints from survivors of sexual abuse, and eight years after being suspended for life from football by the FA over safeguarding concerns, according to reports.

The 82-year-old, who was awarded the honour in 1998, had a 27-year tenure at the club split into three spells, but Gradi's role at both Crewe and as an assistant coach at Chelsea in the 1970s came under scrutiny in 2016 in the wake of the unfolding child sexual abuse scandal in English football.
